Awakening

Why is community important? It's simple. When we look at the ultimate example of Godly living, the life of Christ, we see that He chose to be in intimate relationship with people. The Son of God Himself viewed connection with others as so vital that He spent most of His earthly ministry with just twelve men. A small circle- an eternal legacy.

During this three-week series, we will see just how integral family is to the Christian life as we invite you to join life groups or get involved in some way.  It's messy, it's hard, and it's often inconvenient; yet just as Jesus was willing to lay His life down for us, may we too be a people who let go of our own desires in service One to Another. This is the heartbeat of our faith. Your circle may be small, but your surrender will leave an eternal legacy.

Will you say yes?

What do you see when you open your eyes? The never-ending struggle or valley? A reflection of a person you think God could never choose? Or do you dare to believe that there is something beyond what we can see and understand? Our perspectives shape our entire life; if we want to be a people awakened to God, then we must learn to see how God sees.

During this 8-week series we will be journeying through the Psalms of David—an unlikely man chosen by God to articulate the depths of human existence through the lens of Heaven. Through these teachings we will be fighting the instinct to trust only what we can see and instead learn how we can see through God’s eyes amid all we face. Waking up starts with opening our eyes; if we want to awaken to God, we must keep our eyes wide open.

As we begin this new season, we continue to walk forward on a road of awakening, a path that isn’t marked by reaching a final destination, but one that looks like becoming more in tune to God’s presence along the way. Let’s continue our journey through Luke by looking at the characteristics that mark the life of a devoted disciple of Jesus - the one Who best knew what it was like to live in the fullness of God.
