Dr. Tommy Gray
Lead Pastor
Becoming a pastor at the age of 18 and attending UAH, Tommy's own mentor and further education at Asbury Seminary helped fuel his heart and passion as a church planter and mentor. Tommy has planted ClearBranch UMC, served as a UMC district superintendent, and traveled around the world to train leaders. In 2012, he moved to Asbury and became Lead Pastor in 2018. Tommy is married to Carrie, has 2 children and 4 of the most adorable grandchildren (and yes he has the pictures to prove it!).
Carl Schoenholz
Executive Pastor
Carl moved from the north to Alabama during his high school years and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Psychology. Since graduating, he has been able to live out his dream and calling of being in ministry. He
serves the students of Asbury and the surrounding community as the Director of Student Ministry. Carl loves the word of God, ultimate Frisbee, board games, chaos, nachos, and the outrageous minds of teenagers. War Eagle.
Bill Munts
Pastor of Operations
Bill and his wife Paula live in and care for an older home in the historic district of Athens. Bill and Paula enjoy time with each other, their two children, and three grandchildren. After serving on various committees at Asbury and following 21 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, Bill officially joined the Asbury staff team. Most comfortable behind the scenes, Bill works to ensure that the ministries are equipped with the tools they need to carry out their ministry.
Crissa Letson
Pastor of Spiritual Formation
Crissa joined the Asbury staff in December 2015. She currently serves at the Harvest and Madison campuses in a variety of roles. Crissa is passionate about encouraging and equipping others to live into their callings. She has been married to Greg since 1998 and they have a feisty rescue dog named Penny. Because it’s been their own story, Crissa and Greg have a deep passion to remind others of the healing and freedom possible through a life with Christ.
Jody Hooven
Pastor of Discipleship
Joining the staff at Asbury in September 2024, Jody feels back at home in North Alabama after serving 11 years in pastoral ministry at Christ Church Birmingham. Jody and Sheri, who have been married since 1991 have 3 children and 4 grands (the oldest two grandkids in Athens, AL and twin grandboys in Las Vegas, NV). Jody became a Christ follower in March of 1985 at 20 years of age, and immediately sensed a call into ministry. As an evangelist at heart and an extrovert, Jody loves meeting new people, catching up with old friends, and sharing the Good News of Jesus with others. A favorite scriptural promise of Jody’s that reminds him that we are never alone in any circumstance is, “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.” - James 4:8a
Lori Frusterio
Executive Administrator
Lori has been on Asbury staff since 2006, when she joined the Weekday ministry as a music teacher. She currently serves as the Executive Administrator. This role intertwines with her support to the Lead and Lead Associate Pastors. She likes to spend her workdays improving processes and systems, which helps Asbury to function more proficiently.
Lori enjoys life in Madison with her husband, Brad, and son Noah. She enjoys playing piano, exercising, or learning new things!
Dr. Robin Scott
Campus Pastor, Harvest
Robin is married to his sweetheart of 42 years, Luann. They have two children, Matt and Kim, and eight grandchildren. Robin is a lifetime Auburn fan although he graduated from Jacksonville State. He went to Candler School of Theology for his master’s degree and to Asbury Seminary for his doctorate. Robin loves to play golf, travel, read, and do yard work.
Hawah Brown
Co-Pastor, Harvest
Hawah grew up in Tallahassee, Florida and has been a Christ-follower for more than 20 years. She served her country and her fellow peers in the Army for four years. She has a husband of 10 years, Maurice, and four children. After being called to minister to kids in 2015, Hawah pursued and completed her bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries. She looks forward to using her spiritual gifts and natural strengths to bring children to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Garrett Howell
Campus Pastor, Huntsville & Prayer Pastor
Garrett’s greatest passion is telling the story of the Gospel in a fresh way. His background is in itinerant speaking and in college campus ministry. He studied at Indiana Wesleyan University for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. At Asbury since 2020, as pastor of prayer, Garrett organizes and facilitates prayer meetings in homes, raises up leaders of prayer and teaches prayer through small groups and prayer classes. His favorite responsibility is guiding teams of lay people in listening for God’s voice and direction for our church. Garrett’s parents, Donny and Elaine, were pastors for many years, and it is from them that he learned a love for God’s work.
Dr. Deborah Timmons
Associate Pastor of Care
Deborah was appointed as an Associate Pastor of Care at Asbury in 2016 and also works with Celebrate Recovery. Deborah loves the Lord and has a deep passion for global missions and for winning souls and leading them to Jesus Christ. Deborah has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, Master of Divinity Degree, a Master’s in Psychology and a Certificate in Computer Programming. Deborah has authored two books and written three journals. Her hobbies include reading, writing and hiking.
Jean Carville
Executive Coordinator
Jean and her husband Neil have lived and worked in three states but are proud to say they now reside in one of the “smartest cities in America.” Having three children, two son-in-laws, two wonderful granddaughters, and two dogs, the Carvilles have also found true community and more family at Asbury. With a BS degree in Journalism and Communications, and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Jean is excited to be working with Groups and Family Ministries.
Mary Williams
Administrative Assistant
Mary started working at Asbury in 2007. She and Jeff were married in 1989 and made Asbury their church home shortly after. They have two adult children, along with a daughter-in-law and a son-in-law. They love to travel together and visit new places. Mary stays young by volunteering with Students Ministries and serving on mission trips both near and far. She thinks its a huge blessing to work and worship at Asbury!
Carrie Gray
Director of Care
Carrie was born and raised in Huntsville and finished high school in Guntersville. She loved life in Guntersville and could have never imagined leaving, much less marrying a pastor! Married in 2008, Tommy and Carrie have lived in Trussville, Pell City, and Owens Cross Roads before moving to Madison in 2012. Carrie loves time with family and her adorable grandkids. Carrie loves Jesus and says, “He has shown me more grace than I could ever deserve."

Laura Livingston
Care Coordinator
Laura and her husband Jeter spent 34 years training church leaders in Côte d'Ivoire. She continues editorial work with a ministry committed to publishing the voice of the church in Africa. Living through civil war deepened Laura's desire to walk with the hurting and her passion for prayer. In addition to blessing them with 4 children and 9 grandchildren, God enriched their home with several Ivoirian young people. Laura has an undergrad degree in Biblical education from Columbia International University and a master's degree in theological studies from Liberty Theological Seminary. Her great escapes are reading, cooking, and hiking.
Emily Ishee
Director of College Ministry
Emily grew up here in Madison. In high school, she was involved in youth at Asbury where she fell in love with the Lord. She served in camp ministry at Lake Forest Ranch throughout college where she met her husband, Keller. They live in Madison with their golden puppy, Mae and love opening their home to young people. Emily feels called to feed the body and the soul through Biblical hospitality and teaching the Word of God. She is currently pursing a Masters of Biblical and Theological Foundations from Asbury Theological Seminary.
Chris Knox
Young Leader Coach
Chris and her husband, John, have been serving Jesus together since they married in 1987; including being in a Christian rock band, church planting, and leading worship. Since 2008 when they joined Asbury, Chris has served in different ministries. Now, she’s thankful to be discipling the emerging young adult generation to love Jesus and to live on mission where they live, work, play, eat, and hang out. She also loves hanging with her kids and grandkids, and lake time!
Mike McAlister
Director of Contemporary Worship
Mike was born in Huntsville and was steeped in music from a very young age. He comes from a musical family and has picked up numerous instruments along the way. He has worked for the last 20 years as a private music instructor and has led worship all over the Tennessee Valley. While he enjoys playing in a wide variety of musical acts outside of church, he finds his true calling leading the body of Christ deeper into worship.
Justin Wade
Associate Director of Contemporary Worship
Justin was born and raised in Huntsville. He began attending Asbury in 2022 and was blessed to join the Contemporary Worship Team on the drums, not long afterwards. His passion for worship and relationship with God have both grown a great deal since joining the Asbury Family. After being a truck driver for 15 years, he is overjoyed to be a part of the staff at Asbury. You may know him better as “Olivia’s husband”, as she is very active serving in various roles. Justin & Olivia enjoy time with family, grilling out, camping, and (when it’s quiet) you can usually find him practicing or reading a book. He is currently studying to earn a Bachelor of Religious Studies from Nations University.
Stacey Rhodes
Contemporary Worship Administrative Coordinator
Stacey has called Asbury home since her family’s move to Madison in 2019. She spent the past six years homeschooling her two children, who are active in Asbury Students Ministry. Stacey has been a volunteer with Students and the Welcome Team for the past few years. As her heart for serving others has grown she felt called to re-join the workforce within Asbury and is excited to be on staff in Contemporary Worship. In her spare time she enjoys fostering dogs and puppies with local animal rescues, leading a Girl Scout troop, quilting, and traveling.
Amanda McAlister
Creative Project Manager
Amanda enjoys travelling on mission and vacation. Amanda has called Asbury her church home since 2016, & enjoys serving in multiple positions on the Contemporary Tech Team. She enjoys managing all the details as the Asbury Creative Project Manager.
When not working, serving, or traveling, Amanda and her husband Mike enjoy kayaking in the summer and spending as much time with family as life allows throughout the year.
Andrea Wilhelm
Creative Lead
A world-traveler, Andrea will go anywhere for creative inspiration, but spends most of her time at Asbury behind the scenes crafting sermon series designs, sharing how God is working through our ministries, and making our website and app experiences great for you! A Public Relations alum from Lee University who loves sharing stories of impact through design, Andrea enjoys living back in her native city and exploring local trails, plus discovering new local flavors and makers in her free time.
Mariah Bullard

Mariah moved around a lot before finally settling in Mississippi during her high school years. She grew up in church but truly fell in love with the Lord after going through some hard seasons. After graduating from Blue Mountain Christian University with a Business degree, she joined a residency program and worked at a nonprofit helping rescue women from addiction and abuse. Now, she has a deep desire to show the love of Jesus that she has come to know. "I want to use my temporary scars to point people to His permanent ones."

Ron Wroblewski
Food Services Coordinator
Ron currently oversees Asbury’s Food Services Ministry and has been on staff since retiring as a DoD civilian employee in 2017. He thoroughly enjoys the Food Services Ministry and has served that entity as a volunteer since 2003. He has served on Asbury’s Staff Parish Relations Committee and has been on the Contemporary Worship Tech Team for many years. Ron and his wife, Maura, have been married since 1990 and have two children, Zachary and Sarah. They reside in Madison.

Sheri has worn many hats in ministry to children and families, but her best role has been mom to three amazing kids and now a Gigi to four! One of her favorite things to do is help people find community and a place to belong in the body of Christ. Sheri loves a good cup of coffee, hugs and opening the Word together with a group of ladies.
Christi Spencer
Guest Services Coordinator
Christi loves ALL things Alabama! Although a Florida native of 30 years where she also attended Warner University and Belhaven University, she adores living in Alabama! Before joining the Asbury Staff, she taught kindergarten. Christi and Don love life with their kids, Gracie and Drew, and fur kids Sophie and Marshmallow. One thing you may not know about Christi is her vast collection of plastic pink flamingos and her penchant for late night riff raff by “flamingoing” yards!
Cyndi Wilson
Receptionist
Cyndi started working at Asbury in 2022 after attending here since the 1990s when Asbury only had one building. She has one son and daughter-in-law that also attend Asbury, along with her two grandchildren. Cyndi enjoys traveling and spending time with her grandkids. After years in the corporate world, she feels blessed by the opportunity to continue sharing her skills at Asbury and spend more time with her family!
Betsy Hinken
Receptionist
Betsy is a Mason-Dixon gal, born in Indiana, yet has lived in Alabama most of her life. Formerly a Special Ed teacher for 27 years and a caregiver, she began at Asbury as part-time receptionist in 2005. Her passion as a believer in Jesus is to help people connect within the Body of Christ using their spiritual gifts to grow His Kingdom. She loves music, reading, painting, and plants.

Chari Patrick
Executive Assistant
Chari is originally from Michigan, but mostly raised in Alabama. She has an authentic passion for serving others any way that she can. She has served in various leadership and volunteer positions since joining the Methodist church in 2010. Chari became Executive Assistant of the Harvest Campus in 2016. Chari has also served on the Agent Leadership Committee with Keller Williams Realty. When you can’t find her at church, she is probably enjoying time with her family or selling houses.
Greg Letson
Director of Worship, and Celebrate Recovery
Greg was born in Florence, Alabama. He played golf for the University of Alabama and played professionally for a time after graduating. It was in Tuscaloosa that he met Crissa, his best friend and wife of 23 years! They moved to Pensacola where Greg’s ministry gifts became focused on leading worship. Always willing to grab a guitar, Greg now serves alongside Crissa as Director of Worship for our Harvest Campus, and for our Celebrate Recovery Ministries.
Lila Osborn
Kids Ministry Coordinator & Custodian
Lila was born in Minnesota. She has been in the Harvest area for 11 years. Lila is a mother of 2 young men and 5 dogs! She is a custodian and a caretaker. Lila enjoys nature, reading, writing, and the beach. She is up to almost any new adventure!

Teaching Pastor
Sam grew up in and around Asbury. He attended Mississippi State University and walked away with a degree in Mathematics and a calling to pastoral ministry. For the past year, Sam has been in Wilmore, KY attending Asbury Theological Seminary. Fun Fact: Sam is married to Emily, who serves in the Student Ministry.
Jackson Rohweder
Director of Worship
Jackson is a passionate musician who came to Asbury by way of Nashville, Tennessee. He has a deep love for all things Worship and feels particularly called to lead God’s people into a more free, Spirit-led culture of worship. He also has a newfound appreciation for rest in God’s presence and seeks to bring that to the church as well. Outside of church, Jackson loves hanging out in coffee shops and discussing the Enneagram!
Rochelle Rohweder
Executive Assistant and Co-Director of Worship
Originally hailing from Southern Ohio, Rochelle began following her calling as a worship leader at age 16. She moved to Nashville, TN in 2016 to pursue music. At Belmont University, she met her life partner, Jackson Rohweder, who she married in 2022. Rochelle and Jackson now dwell in Madison, AL with their eight house plants. Passionate about organization and to-do lists, Rochelle enjoys maintaining the Huntsville campus as the Executive Assistant. She also fulfills her love for music alongside her husband as they co-direct Huntsville worship.
Lori Menikheim
Director of Asbury Kids Ministry
As a lifelong member of Asbury, Lori never expected to work in Kids Ministry, but knows she is living into God’s plan for her life. One of her greatest joys is talking with kids about Jesus. Lori lives in Madison with her husband, Brian, and their girls, Samantha and Abigail. Lori is blessed to be surrounded by people she loves at both home and work. She also loves music, a good Bible study, and Christmas movies.
Danielle Westrope
Asbury Kids Nursery Ministry Coordinator
Danielle’s family has been members of Asbury family for 25 years. Her passion for Jesus and children led her to Kids Ministry where she has been working for 19 years. She’s currently the Nursery Coordinator and leads a team of amazing women who spend their time teaching Jesus to the littlest Asbury members. After raising three kids, Danielle and her husband are empty nesters who love cooking together and spending their free time with granddaughter Aria and their fur babies.
Allison Liparulo
Asbury Kids Family Connection Coordinator
Allison is a coffee-loving golfer who you can find reading or watching movies when not making new memories with her family. Allison loves interacting with kids and watching them learn and grow through their experiences. She followed that calling by becoming an elementary teacher and taught for more than 10 years. Allison joined Kids Ministry in 2021 and is excited to help create experiences for kids to learn and welcome Jesus into their lives.
Tiffany McCauley
Asbury Kids Curriculum and Administrative Coordinator
Tiffany grew up attending military chapels and accepted Christ as Savior at a young age. She earned her BS in Marketing from Troy University, married an army aviator, and eventually stayed home for 15 years to raise their children. During this time, Tiffany felt the call of God on her life as a ministry administrator. Asbury has been the perfect place for her gifting. Tiffany and Kirk have five children - Andrew, Abby, Anna, Dominik, and Daniel.
Amanda Ellis
Asbury Kids Preschool Ministry Coordinator
Moving from Central Florida, Amanda and her family are overjoyed with finding Asbury Church to call home. Amanda has a master's degree in Sociology from the University of Central Florida and a career background in higher education. Having developed a genuine heart for helping and seeing growth in students, she is eager and excited to be diving in with Asbury Kids ministry. Amanda enjoys drinking coffee, refurbishing and DIY projects, thrifting, gardening, trying new foods, and music.
Stacy Franklin
Director of Missions
Stacy, born and raised in Oklahoma, played college soccer at Mercer University and earned a BA in Elementary Education. She is married to Jon and is the proud mother of four children. Stacy and Jon have a heart for the next generation and lead a Life Group of young adults. A member of Asbury for over 25 years, Stacy finds fulfillment in her role on the Asbury staff, where she is committed to helping others live on mission. Beyond her work with global and local missions, Stacy is passionate about adoption and foster care.

Page Gilbert
Facilities Maintenance Technician
Page has lived in the area and been a part of the Asbury family for over 30 years. Not only has Page attended Asbury, he has served in various ways around campus. You may have seen his smiling face as a greeter or a golf cart driver on Sunday mornings! He's also traveled on mission with Asbury partners. After retiring from sales in January of 2024, Page came to work for the church in March putting his home inspection and handiman skills to work. When not tending to the needs of the buildings on campus, Page enjoys time at home with his teenaged son.
Amber Pippin
Church Accountant
Amber has lived in the Huntsville/Madison area since her family was stationed at Redstone Arsenal in the early 80s. A graduate from UAH with a degree in Accounting, Amber has worked on staff in the Finance office at Asbury since 2007. . Amber and her husband Jonathan share five children – 4 of which have attended the U of A. Roll Tide! When not assisting the ministries of Asbury with all things debits/credits, Amber enjoys live concerts, sci-fi and traveling.
Cricket Carroll
Church Bookkeeper
Cricket and her husband, Tim, have lived in the area and have been a part of the Asbury family for 30 years. They have one son and daughter-in-law who have made Asbury their home as well. With a degree in Accounting from Mississippi State University and a CPA, Cricket enjoys being on the Finance team and helping people find the joy in giving.
Sally Kate Carroll
Director of Asbury Residency & Spiritual Formation Coordinator
Sally Kate grew up in a small town in Mississippi. She attended the University of Mississippi for college and worked summers at Camp Lake Stephens where she met her husband Will (who grew up at Asbury church). They now live in Huntsville and are very excited to be involved at Asbury. Sally Kate has a passion for helping young people discover the calling God has on their lives and loves getting to walk that journey with the Residents.
Savannah Loudin
Special Needs Ministry Coordinator
Savannah is a Madison County native with a passion for ministering to children, youth, and adults with special needs. She became the Special Needs Ministry Coordinator in 2023 and has enjoyed being a part of the Asbury team. After pursuing a degree in Psychology from the University of North Alabama, she began her career as a Registered Behavior Technician. She worked directly with individuals with Autism and provided ABA therapy in schools, homes and the clinical setting. Savannah enjoys sharing the love of God with special populations so that they will know that they are loved and included regardless of any differences they may have. Savannah recently graduated from the Leadership Greater Huntsville -Connect program and enjoys volunteering and spending time with family.

Blades
Interim Director of Student Ministry
Emily comes to us from the state of Indiana with a love for the Church, writing, calling her dad, and silly karaoke. Emily is especially passionate about reading the Scriptures faithfully and calling up the God-knitted identity in each person. As a graduate from Bethel University with a bachelor’s degree in Christian Leadership, Emily initially made the trek to Alabama for the Asbury Academy summer internship but stuck around to be close to her Asbury family. Fun fact: A student ministry volunteer, Susan Blades, once set Emily up with her oldest son… and now they’re married!
Diann Ward
Student Ministry Administrative Coordinator
Diann has been on staff since 2009 when she began working in the Weekday program as a classroom teacher. She received her BA in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing from the University of Alabama where she was in the Million Dollar Band and met her husband, Bill. They have been at Asbury since 1995 and have been blessed to raise their 3 kids, Trey, Alex and Peyton here. She finds it a joy to serve in Student Ministries where she can combine her heart for serving students with her heart for all things administrative.
Megan Serrano
Student Ministry Coordinator
Megan was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama and is currently studying Communications at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. When not at school or church, she can be found reading or playing with her puppy, Harley. Megan grew up at Asbury and it was during her own time with Asbury Students that she fell deeply in love with the Lord. She has a heart for students and feels so blessed to be a part of this ministry!
Jason Noland
Director of Technical Arts
Jason’s passion for communicating and bringing God’s story to life began as a child musician and has taken many forms over the years. Whether it is through teaching, directing, or leading teams, he loves seeing lives impacted by the power of encountering Jesus. Jason’s passion for communicating and bringing God’s story to life began as a child musician and has taken many forms over the years. Whether it is through teaching, directing, or leading teams, he loves seeing lives impacted by the power of encountering Jesus. Aside from ministry, Jason enjoys producing events, golf and good coffee.
Lori Bailey
Director of Traditional Worship
Lori and her husband, Jerald, have two grown sons, JJ and Caleb. She is a leadership and personal development addict. She also enjoys relaxing vacations, Auburn football, having friends over for dinner, and tower gardening.
Melanie Berbrier
Traditional Worship Administrative Coordinator
Melanie has lived in the Huntsville area since 2010 after moving here from Tampa, Florida. Before joining Asbury, she was an English teacher at Grissom High School, and also worked as a copywriter in advertising for over 20 years. Melanie and her husband Mitch have a blended family of four adult children, and an assortment of pets including Henry, their beloved Husky/Shepherd mix. In her free time, Melanie enjoys bike-riding, hiking, reading, painting, and watching movies.
Kim Bell
Traditional Worship Pianist
A native of Decatur, Alabama, Kim graduated from Decatur High School. She received a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science from UNA and also a Masters in Probability and Statistics from Auburn University. She is a Professor of Statistics at Athens State University. Playing the piano since the age of 4, Kim also plays the organ, guitar, banjo, bass fiddle, and other types of bluegrass instruments. Kim is married to her college sweetheart, Julian, and they have two sons.
Alana Acker
Traditional Worship Organist
Alana is a native of Asheville, North Carolina. She and her husband Dave have a young adult daughter, Gillian. Alana works to keep focused on leading a Holy Spirit-filled life and providing worship music that draws people closer to God. She enjoys reading the Bible, listening to podcasts and cooking. Alana and her family have been based here in Madison since 2016.
Phillip Lee
Traditional Worship Technical Specialist
Phillip has served in technical capacities for over 25 years at Asbury. From the early days of Contemporary Worship and now serving in Traditional Worship, Phillip is most comfortable out of sight working tech. Over the years, Phillip has been serving in both volunteer and staff capacities. Phillip enjoys time with his wife Lynn, daughter Tori, and being “old dude” to grandson Max.
Jerald Bailey
Traditional Worship Orchestra Director
Jerald came to us after a 35-year career as a high school and university band director. He has been a professional trumpeter for over 40 years. He is married to Lori and they have 2 children.
Marlee Martin
Director of Asbury Weekday
Marlee Martin is a graduate of both the University of North Alabama and The University of Alabama. She spent 10 years in retail management before beginning a new season of life as a mom. God gave her a passion for family and children and she joined the Asbury Staff as the Nursery Coordinator in 1998 and served as the Associate Director of Weekday from 2001 then becoming Director in 2022. She and her husband Bryan have two children and two grandchildren. They have called Asbury home since 1991 and currently serve at the Harvest campus.
Sharon Speed
Associate Director of Asbury Weekday
Sharon was born and raised in south Mississippi before she and her family relocated here in 2006. She graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a B.S. degree in Health Information Management. She is married to Will and they have two children, Ben and Sarah Grace. They joined Asbury upon moving here and have all served in various ministries. Sharon joined the Weekday team in 2016 as a Music Teacher. She accepted the position of Associate Director in May 2024. In her spare time, you can always find Sharon in her happy place, her sewing room! She and Will enjoy traveling together, especially to cool concert venues. The Speeds are Mississippi State fans, but are having to learn to yell “War Eagle” every now and then since their daughter is now a student at Auburn. Sharon loves being a part of Weekday and sharing Jesus with His youngest disciples!
